Recently there have been different drives to create a better country. One of the most striking and I think may be the easiest was to conserve water and paper. For me it felt good to see that I did not have a trash can full of paper anymore. All I had were inevitable trash over there. Aside from that I had began sending power points presentations, readings and hand-outs to my students online instead of having photocopies. We saved a great deal of paper in one semester. You may say that my classes are not even one-tenth of the paper-using population but somehow this has become a good start. My fellow teachers are also looking into it already and have begun their own crusades. Another thing I did was to keep my documents in soft copy too. It was safer and easily retrieved at any time I wanted anywhere in the world. Sometimes it creeps me out to think that this online system was formulated to stalk more on people and somehow take away their freedom. That seemed wild but it can happen as it did in James Bond movies. Well, anyway for the meantime that I am not a fugitive myself, I can enjoy the convenience of EkspresBank on e-boks. Easy retrieval of my files can avoid long lines in government offices and lessen the use of paper for fill-up forms. Taking aside the privacy issue at the back of my mind, I must say that the system works well for me.
